The summer days are counting down, along with the temperature in many regions. That does not mean that we have to go right into the winter makes! Our newest guest takes us down to the tropical forests in Central and South America where these signature cereal birds are native to. Although this toucan does not have a catch phrase, it will be sure to keep you company as the cooler weather approaches. Let us give a big welcome to our newest Yarn Punk guest on the blog.
Hey Phillip!
Hi, I’m Phillip and I am the crochet designer behind SirPurlGrey. I am a high school math teacher in Calgary, Alberta and started crocheting 8 years ago when I needed a form of creative therapy after long day at school. Shortly after learning the basic stitches, I stumbled into the world of amigurumi. A lot of my early inspirations for my designs came from my love of video games, namely Pokemon. It’s hard to believe that since I made my first Umbreon I’ve written a crochet book with my partner. It’s called The Crochet Wildlife Guide and creating it was a fun experience that allowed me to combine crochet with my interest in animals. I love sharing patterns through my blog and Instagram (@sirpurlgrey) so check them out if you’re interested!
