Hey there Amy Lou!
Hello! My name is AmyLou, of Mandies Crafting Table.
A little history of my yarn-y journey, I first learned to knit when I was about 8 years old, I picked up crochet somewhere in my teenage years. I’ve been creating things with yarn for as long as I can remember! And I am mostly self taught. As a kid I would get books from the library every time we went to learn new stitches and techniques. Growing up I mostly made things as gifts, and now in the last couple years my passion for this craft has really exploded! And I’m so excited to share it with you all.I always have made up my own patterns (the world of single pattern PDFs online didn’t exist yet lol) but never imagined that my creations might be something other people would be interested in! Until recently. When I found this online fiber community last year it was very eye opening. It has been so exciting to discover that I’m not the only “young” knitter or crocheter. And I love that we are able to share our ideas, creations and dreams with people across the country and around the world, it is so incredible!
About the Pattern
This Santa hat pattern is something I have been thinking about for awhile now. When I first bought some of the Go For Faux fur yarn I thought it would be just perfect for this idea! I know there are other santa hat patterns out there, but I couldn’t find one that fit the bill for what I envisioned. I tried to keep this pattern simple, and using bulky yarn means it works up quickly! The pom is crocheted, and I know the stitches can be tricky with the fur yarn, but it doesn’t have to be perfect 😉 This fur yarn is also very forgiving of missed or mixed up stitches.
I hope you enjoy making this, I’m so excited to see what colors you choose to use! If you have any questions you can reach out to me on my socials listed down below! Happy yarning my friends!Facebook: MandiesCraftingTable
